Dorsal proctodeal wall of the cloaca of a chicken (HE): normal tubular glands
The proctodeum is lined by a single columnar epithelium without goblet cells. Villi are not present anymore. The crypts of LieberkÃ¼hn are barely present, except in the dorsal wall, where they form well organized branched tubular glands, as seen on the micrograph above.
